Vanilla Kipfeln by Mrs. Eva Jack

260 grams flour (9.5 oz)
200 grams butter (7 oz)
100 grams sugar (3.5 oz)
100 grams finely ground hazelnuts (3.5 oz)
1 egg
1 package of vanilla sugar
Powdered sugar

Combine all ingredients except powdered sugar and knead to form a dough.  Break off a small piece about the size of a quarter and shape into a crescent moon.  Repeat until all dough is used.  Place on cookie sheet and bake at 325 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 minutes.  Cookies should be very lightly browned around the edges.  When cooled, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
