Apfelkuchen - Apple Cake


The Dough: The Apples:
10 oz. butter 10 Pippin or Granny Smith Apples
14 2/3 oz. flour 1/2 cup sugar
5 oz. sugar 1 spoon cinnamon
3 egg yolks 1/4 cup flour
1 spoon vinegar 3 Tbs. Sour Cream

 Baking Directions:
Mix sugar and flour well. Slowly add butter in pieces to flour. Make a dough and separate in two. Roll out dough. Put one into 13 x 8 inch sheet and bake at 325 F for 10 minutes. Mix finely cut apples, sugar, cinnamon and flour. Spread on baked sheet. Place the 2nd roll of dough on top of fruit, paint with egg, and poke with a fork several times. Bake at 350 F for 45 -55 minutes. Sprinkle with sugar.
